Position Responsibilities:

  • EIT Certification preferred

  • Experience with Structural Engineering Software Preferred (Enercalc, RAM, ETABS, Risa)

Special Structural Inspector

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Senior Inspectors, Project Administrator or engineers to verify and document proper execution of project designs.
  • Ability to read and understand designs, specifications, and plans, and schedule milestones based on the documents for various construction projects.
  • Ability to read the documents and verify that the actual product being constructed conforms to the design and specifications.
  • Document and verify that design specifications are implemented in the execution of projects.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to use principles and theories of science and engineering to prepare solutions to technical problems.
  • Produce detailed reports, documenting that construction is adhering to the design requirements.
  • Prepare a daily report on the status of the work, including confirmation of work accomplished, available resources, and job site conditions.
  • Prepare and update various documents and spreadsheets for inspection reports.
  • Assist with resolution of Request for Information (RFI).
  • Willing to work weekends and nights as needed
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and the ability to travel and drive regularly, often long distances.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to safely navigate construction worksites – roads, buildings, bridges, and areas with uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, and be able to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions

Education / Certifications:

  • High school diploma or minimum five (5) years experience in related field inspector position.
  • Require certifications through the following organizations:
  • American Welding Society – Certified Welding Inspector
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) – Field Testing Technician Level I
  • ICC Certified Special Inspector
