Special Structural Inspector
Position Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Senior Inspectors, Project Administrator or engineers to verify and document proper execution of project designs.
- Ability to read and understand designs, specifications, and plans, and schedule milestones based on the documents for various construction projects.
- Ability to read the documents and verify that the actual product being constructed conforms to the design and specifications.
- Document and verify that design specifications are implemented in the execution of projects.
Requirements:
- Must be able to use principles and theories of science and engineering to prepare solutions to technical problems.
- Produce detailed reports, documenting that construction is adhering to the design requirements.
- Prepare a daily report on the status of the work, including confirmation of work accomplished, available resources, and job site conditions.
- Prepare and update various documents and spreadsheets for inspection reports.
- Assist with resolution of Request for Information (RFI).
- Willing to work weekends and nights as needed
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and the ability to travel and drive regularly, often long distances.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Must be able to safely navigate construction worksites – roads, buildings, bridges, and areas with uneven terrain.
- Must be able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, and be able to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
Education / Certifications:
- High school diploma or minimum five (5) years experience in related field inspector position.
- Require certifications through the following organizations:
- American Welding Society – Certified Welding Inspector
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) – Field Testing Technician Level I
- ICC Certified Special Inspector
