This new classroom and lab building is two stories and 50,000 square feet. The project includes a 125-150 seat planetarium with a 50 foot diameter dome (clear span). The building provides specialized labs and general classrooms. The technical labs were designed and built for physics, biology, mechanical, 3-D photo and robotic learning. A two-story central atrium provides a collaborative learning environment for spontaneous meetings while also providing a natural light shaft throughout the building. The construction type is steel frame supported on concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls. Due to the nature of the site, the first floor is cut into the existing sloped grade.
