It has a contemporary square design, with a spire made up of layered sections that gradually transform from angular to round edges. It is the 144th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the fifth in Arizona. The main super structure and spire are structural steel frame, the basement walls are cast-in-place concrete, and the foundation system is standard spread footings.
